Shifter Moving All Around

Hi,
So I've got a couple things wrong with my yota this week. First off its a 1990 pickup with a V6 that was swapped in from like a 93 4runner I think. The engine has about 80K miles on it and the body has more like 190K miles.
Here are my issues:

1. My speedometer and tachometer quite working. As soon as this happened I started getting a CEL whenever I get up to about 25-30mph. The light stays on until I shut down the vehicle. Once I start it up again the light is gone until I get up to that 25-30 mph mark again. Speed Sensor? Speedometer Cable? Not sure.

2. (The more serious issue) I was driving yesterday when I went to pull out of a driveway and my shifter went all loose. Its been sloppy in the past but now I can move it like 360 degrees in all directions. The grooves you can normally feel for 1st, 2nd etc. are totally gone! Its just moves all over the place. The only gear I can really get to engage is 5th.
I've read this could be the shifter bushings which are an easy fix. I'm really hoping its not the tranny.

Note that I live in interior Alaska and its about -30F right now so stuff breaking or just flat out disintegrating is very possible at these temps

Any advice would be awesome!! Cheers

i would think it's bushings too, should be able to find out when you take the shifter out.

sounds like it will be easier said than done with those temps lol.

x2 on the shifter bushing. Get a good replacement from Marlin Crawler.
