seperate t case from tranny?
So Im working on replacing my clutch and my friend says we should just seperate the t case from the tranny vs dropping the cross member.
Im not too fond of this idea because i dont want to reseal it and ive never split the 2 when doing a clutch.
So im going to tell him tomorrow i dont want to split em and should i just unbolt the x member and leave everything mounted to that or what?

We dropped everything as one peice. Just unbolted the d-shafts and x-member from the frame, unbolted the bellhousing and removed shifters and dropped it as one peice. Its pretty heavy, a tranny jack would be pretty tits here. We made by with muscle and a floor jack.
Dont split them. P.s any manual you are using except the FSM is a waste of time. Seriously, there is the 93 fsm online for free...

I got one of those for a 80-95 toyota truck... for free.
I looked at it once, said "my truck doesnt have that.." then put it on the top shelf and forgot about it. I dunno who can stand using those things, when you need it most, it just says "go to a mechanic"!

Its not that bad, the worst part is trying to line up the splines when installing it. You need to lift and slide it forward. I watched my friend bench it into place, but it aint easy.
I suggest going and buying a tranny jack adapter (under $50 im sure for you lucky US boys), you can even take the thing back after you use it. But new tools are always fun..
So floor jack and muscles will work, but a tranny jack makes it an easy job.

So I need some advice on removing the 2 bolts at the very top of the tranny about 11 and 1 oclock.
Ive gotten every single bolt out/broken loose but those.
I can get a tiny socket wrench on there but i cant break it lose.
