sensor next to coolant temp sensor on 90 22re,what is it??

sensor next to coolant temp sensor on 90 22re,what is it??
i cant figure out what the sensor is that is to the left of the coolant temp sensor on my 90 22re.any ideas??

it starts,but only after cranking for about a min.starts fine when its warmed up or warm outside.the connector for that sensor is actually broke off.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I broke that black sensor off the other day. I pulled it out and it looked like a probe so I figured a coolant temp sensor. I was just wondering if you could tell me what you ended up replacing?

That sensor is called "Cold Start Injector Time Switch".
It's purpose is to complete the circuit that causes the cold start injector to squirt fuel while you're cranking the engine... IF the engine is cold, as in below around 65F degrees.
