Sensor identification

Hey guys I was hoping someone could tell me what sensor this is and where it goes. Background info is it’s on my 1993 4wd pickuck 4x4 manual trans 22re. Took the motor all apart to replace the timing chain and now that I have the truck all back together I can’t seem to figure out where this sensor goes

Seems to be with all the emissions sensors that are on top of my valve cover but I don’t see anywhere to plug it in at

i took a ton of pictures and videos before I tore the motor all apart but I seem to have missed this one

Looks like that's the harness plug for your EGR temp sensor, which your engine doesn't appear to have.

Perhaps your harness is from a California emissions spec truck or a '94-'95? My understanding is that, prior to 1994 model years, only the California emissions equipped 22REs had an EGR temp sensor, but then even the federal (ie, non-California) emissions equipped 22REs were outfitted with the EGR temp sensor from 1994 model year forward. My 1994 22RE has one, and I deleted all emissions equipment. I have a resistor stuck in the harness plug so that I won't have a check-engine light. I can't remember what resistance resistor I used but I can check if that'd help you.

Truck is titled as a 93 but it’s built date is late 93 I think October so maybe they put a 94 harness in it but no egr temp sensor?

runs good and doesn’t throw any codes or lights

Don't guess, test!

Clip your continuity probe to it and probe the ECU plug.. Consult the ECU pin map..

Based on the tape and hard kink it was taped to its self and not used on your vehicle..

Yep. My non-California 92 has that same plug with the wire to it bundled up and goes to nothing.
