Fresh..

rattle canned it this weekend , took 12-14 cans of Rustoleum, no clear coat , and just a bit of primer on the bare metal areas. Sorry about the cell phone quality pics

What do you think? Should I paint over the chrome?

Thanks

You can always pull off the grill to sand and paint later

Here is mine. Not perfect, but way better than before which was rusty, faded, and scratched to death. I used Rustolium Painters Touch in the rattle cans. Lots of sanding then a few coats of white primer since I was going from Black to a light color. The wetsanding/rubbing compound/wax evened it out enough that it actually looks decent. Total cost with all supplies was under $100.

I debated painting mine with Rocker Guard for quite a while but I finally went ahead and did it a few months ago. Got sick of the mismatched shades of black.

I'm surprised how well its holding up.

Dude Man, what exactly is that? I have never seen something like that! It's scaring me because of how much I like it!

Its a "bobbed" 4 runner I think! Looks sick!
Edit: Chopped instead of bobbed. Didnt know what it was called a couple months ago!

It's a 90 4Runner with the roof cut off and the rear cab of a 95 Tacoma welded in place. Here's another pic, you can see the Tacoma beside it.

Sure gets a lot of attention now..

Technically its 'chopped', not 'bobbed'.

Bobbing a truck refers to shortening the rear end for a better departure angle. I haven't run into many problems with the tailgate getting hung up or damaged so I probably won't bother.

Thanks nmtoy... It was a base model truck and got lots of SR5 options added to it. It runs and drives nice too. I really liked how it turned out. I have seen your truck as well and it is a nice truck you have. Really hoping to get my 85 done up as nice one day. The cooler weather is holding me up on that. Will be glad when I can post the 85 on here as done. It will happen, just going to take a little while longer. Thanks again for the compliment.

Rattle canned it 3+ years ago, took a lot of primer and paint due to it being black and some camo before it was white.

Thats a REALLY good job but I'm not gonna get to fancy with mine, just paint mine OD green and be done with it. And yes I know I need to prime it before I paint, lol

I've seen quite a few good looking trucks you guys have done so far and I can't wait to get my Yota here to start on the mechanical stuff. After its running and sitting right I'll most likely get the paint job started and I can't wait
