seal question

My 89 4x4 5 spd 22re has lost all the trans fluid ,without any signs of an external leak. I had read about a similar problem that was thought to be caused by a leak between the trans/transfer case. What I would like to find out is the location of the seal ,it looks like it could be split in a couple of places. The fluid level was normal in the transfer case . The transmission I think is a g58 and any help would be appreciated. I have searched but have not found what I was searching for.

The link is helpful on the question of splitting the trans,I guess what I need to know is if the fluid would leak into the transfer case or if there is a place it could get trapped. It looks like all the space in the trans up to the transfer case has fluid in it.
The post I read made it sound as if there is a space that the fluid cold collect.I had the info saved but my computer ,but it had to be wiped clean and I lost several years of saved manuals and tech information.
