I can't weld or any of that. Zero fab skills till I get out of my apartment and into a place where the welder I bought can be put to good use. Then I can start to experiment.
If Toyota had used a different style of shackle, I would have re-used those till the more expensive and custom ones come in.

Haven't ordered any coils yet, I'm waiting to get new shock mounts. Then I can order some coils to keep the " stuff you gotta carry around " sag from happening.

The results you see are from putting new leaf springs in, but i bought and installed new nitro 9000 shocks also.

I think it looks great.

I'm thinking of putting new springs on my 93.

How much were they from JC whitney?

Snotrocket-depending on where you live in Maine, you could call Brake Service in Bangor for a quote on new springs. Just another option...I ended up putting firestone airbags on my pickup...they work well, but ride a bit harsh.

Thanks Snotrocket, took all day by myself. It was my first time doing anything like this.
Bruzer1123 had your answer. $125.oo plus shipping to Reno, NV. Plus I bought 2 nitro 9000 shocks at the same time. Prices are listed under the last pic.
Put the driveshaft in this morning. Took it for a spin around the block twice.
It's nice to have a suspension, instead of bottoming out on cracks and dips in the road.

With one or both of the wheels off the ground(fully extended leafpacks) measure the distance between the top of the leafpack and bottom of frame.....that will tell you if you should be using 12's or 14 inch coils.
You might consider going back to a shackle of about 4" eye to eye(driveshaft angle will likely be better and 12" coils may work(125 pounds per inch recommended).
If for some reason you have to use the longer 14" coils then the lightest rated ones are probably best for your application (100 pounds per inch).

Thanks ZUK. You have great info.
I will check out that measurement when I go to buy coils.
I put those shackles on cuz I didn't have any others. I will get some after market shackles soon, along with new shock mounts.

and another suggestion- when you go to swap the shackles, jack the truck off the ground high enough to get the tires off the ground and support the frame with stands, not the axle. then use a jack to lift / lower the axle to make getting the shackles off easier.

Finally installed my Marlin Crawler rear bumper.

The rear springs and shocks I installed 3 weeks ago are pretty stiff still. They bounce a little on road. When they got delivered, the shocks were from Rough Country so I am assuming the leaf springs are the same. I know they have the reputation for being rough, stiff springs. They have so far lived up to their name. Maybe a little more time will tell because I have heard that they changed suppliers. I do not know this for fact. If they did change suppliers, I don't know if I got some old ones or some new ones.

I am still planning on installing a flip kit on the rear end and adding the ZUK brackets for coils. First, though, I need to acquire some shock relocation brackets.

Here's the MC bumper being installed.

I got a step closer today and ordered some coils for my ZUK mod. I ended up going with the 14" - 100 pound coils. Although I still need some shock relocation brackets, I am almost ready to put in my flip kit.

Here's the link for the coils I bought, about $73.oo with shipping;

I am still experiencing some bouncing of the rear end. I think if I had it to do over again, I would not buy these JCWhitney leaf springs. I would pay more and go with a name brand softer leaf spring. Live and learn.
