Safe max RPM for a 22re?

I take mine to trips around 5000 rpm all the time.. Passing on country roads, merging on the highway.. The motor makes peak horsepower at 4800rpm..
As for rev limiter, I believe its set at 5500 rpm, but I've never hit it.. Motor doesn't want to rev that high, so I don't force her to..

rev limiter is 5750 IIRC
"safe" limit though? I'd try not to keep a stock motor above 4500 for any extended amount of time
but if you had a built bottom end with ARP main bolts and rod studs, and some top-quality main and rod bearings, as well has some I-beam rods and forged pistons, then wind that SOB out

i run mine at 4500 rpm on hills for 10 minutes at time sometimes, these motors are dogs below 3000 rpm, when i'm going on the freeway or just really need to get going sometimes I go to 5000. But your motor doesn't live until it makes it past 4000 lol.

I shift when the truck goes it goes "VVVRRRRRRRRRRRR" instead of "woooom"
but inbetween "WHHHAAAAAMMM" and "WHARRRRR" is the sweet spot for torque/HP.
(i dont have a tach)

I hate people who get made at the 22re for being "slow" so they just shift at 5k each time.... Its a freaking 4cyl truck... "Toyota Recommends To shift between 2-4k."

When the power band doesn't start until 4K?
I do a bit of semi driving every now and then and you really need to stay in the powerband especially on gradients. I guess the driving style has just imprinted on me....When I press the pedal I want to move, not wait for the revs to creep up to the power band and then start moving. I have actually only owned one car, been riding bikes before this. I don't think I ever let them drop below 10K haha.
2 speeds...stopped or flat out

I try to shift before 4 or 5k but when im offroading i tended to have a led foot and would have it at the rev limiter all day. I have roughly 279,### miles on the original motor and tranny... but thats before i had it taken from me

I have always heard these are truck motors - built for trq down low more than high rpm hp. Yet Toyota engines over all are considered quite bullet proof and able to withstand abuse. Their DOHC motors sure take some RPM's without grenading. The bore and stroke are very similar to the 4.6 DOHC Ford I own and it is considered a rev happy engine.
The 22RE has a forged crank - forged rods - over head cam (generally better for high revs) and the rod/stroke ratio isn't bad for rpm's either - so do they actually break at high RPM's or are they just not tuned for that ?
My stock 22RE has no MAF and a turbo now - and I have the rev limiter set at 5800 RPM because I've heard these engines don't rev - but man is it still pulling hard at the limit - I'd love to move it up to 7000 and see what happens but don't want to destroy the engine just yet

ive never hit the redline, the highest i ever got it was probably around 4k but i dont have a tach so im just guessing. the p/o would take this thing to redline everychance he could get...and hed keep it there for a long time....

Max safe RPM? The same as any other 3.5" of stroke motor with only 3.62" of bore...
And put yer calculators away, that's only 2.4 liters...
