Wow, been a while since I've been here.

Now I have a problem.

93 Pickup, 22re 5 speed, 4x4. When I start it up cold, it sputters and spits, then clears about a minute later. Now it started doing it while driving sometimes(no power, sputtering). I want to suspect a fuel filter, although its relatively new. Any ideas?

 

189 post and you joined in 2004. it has been awhile. when was the last complete tune up? might want to ohm your coil and wires to start.

 

Well, put in a new fuel filter today (30 minutes). Same deal. Took out the spark plugs and the 2nd plug that came out, it seems the ceramic cracked on the inside. Got new plugs, seems fine so far, but only ran it for 10 minutes. Tommorrow will tell.

Cracked ceramic means water, head gasket.

 

Did a little search on google. Couldn't find anything that linked cracking and HG, not that I don't beleive you-just stating what I found. The reason I searched was becasue the HG probably has not even 20k on it. No fluid leak, and good looking oil. Could be Detonation according to a couple sites. Gonna get a timing light and make sure the timing is still Ok.

Just gonna run it, maybe if it goes I'll get a truck that doesnt ride worse than my work truck!
