rubber piece on top of transmission

rubber piece on top of transmission

I removed this piece and I can't remember if it points towards the engine or away from the engine. I have a 95 3vze, not sure which transmission, but this piece is located on the top of the bellhousing.

Should point away from the front of the truck, so at not to attract water or debri
