rough idle, poor mileage

Does anyone know what will cause rough idle, poor gas mileage, a lack of power on acceleration and a smell of gas in the crankcase? Any help appreciated!

O2 sensor? Just from your description I'm guessing too rich, and I'm just guessing.

Don't start spending all kinds of money on stuff. Check what you can for free first. I don't know anything about your engine but maybe you could pull off the carb and clean it completely. Do the simple stuff first.

Sounds like the fuel pump diaphragm sprung a leak. Pretty common on cam driven fuel pumps that are old or have high mileage.
