I know painting with brushes or rollers are somewhat a high quality method. If you want a really fine stroke with a brush, get some human hair brushes. Dont know if they make them anymore, but thats what they used on the cars back in the olden days, like Ford Model As and Ts.

Bonus!!!!
In a week or so, I will be posting up progress pics of the same method on my 87 4runner. Im getting it back in the morning and will do some body work this weekend hopefully. Needs a few dents pulled and rust removed (damn mailbox scraped all the way down the side and little brother didnt take care of it).

prep work for the top was the same as the rest of the truck, a sanding to roughen things up a bit and a good wipe down with mineral spirits.

First off, SWEET!!!!!!!!
Second, so if I read correct, you did two coats, wet sanded, two more coats, then a final wet sanding?
Third, how far did you go on the original paint? Did you go all the way down to the bare metal or wut?

Im definitely doing this when I need some new paint - love the look and price!
You said it took abouts 4 days including dry times...How many hours total did you have in prepping, masking, painting, blah, blah. And are you happy with the texture or will you wet sand the orange peel texture down?
Thanks!

i wonder how it would look with flat black and/or a two tone setup? i wouldnt think of this normally but i saw this sportcompactcar article where they sanded up a PERFECT new WRX and painted it flat black with spray cans....
they said it was because they could...and because it looked "badass"....
i'm not sure what i think of a truck being flat black.. first impression would be "not finished" but maybe it would work?
anyone tried different paint schemes? two tone split at the bodylines, or tasteful pinstriping? sounds eaiers with roll-on than it would be with spray....

door jams are easy cause they sell the exact same colors in spray. I am goig nto use spray on places lie kthat where they wont see much wear and it just makes quality better.
