Right hand drive conversion, anybody done one?

but, my question still stands, (yes, i get that rhd cars actually drive on forward on the left side of roads in other countries).

why are there 2 different types/sides of drive?

for what purpose (other than being different) did that occur or begin?


thanks for the patience and good luck finding your rhd swap.

I was told that countries using RHD did so because most people are right handed, so when you go to shift gears, your right hand (dominant) remains on the wheel, and would be slightly safer.

Not sure if this is hogwash or not, but it sounded good at the time!

I have been sitting on the right and reaching to the left with my current vehicle that I have now. I don't have the skill to swap out the whole front end of the vehicle. I might have to fab up some pedals on the right and reach over for the steering wheel like someone else suggested. It gets old reaching over with your hand and leg both. Being 4runners are narrow the wheel is an easy reach. Thanks.
