Replace guage cluster / Speedometer

Hey all, so the internals of my Speedometer are shot, checked the cable and it still turns so it's one of the small pieces inside the Speedometer itself. anyways. It's a 1995 4runner SR5. will only the 2nd gen guages fit on here? and All I really need is the Speedometer / Odometer so if even that will switch out from 3rd gen + would make it easier to find. or non SR5 models I'm assume fit in the 2nd gen range. It's mechanical cable run also I don't see why they would have changed how the cable fits in the back of the Speedometer on other models unless they changed to full electronic, but anybody with any experience with this or tips are welcome thanks.

I'm not much help but here's some pics for what it's worth...
My 96 4Runner's speedo is electric, not cable...usually abs-driven, I'm using a sender out of a 96 base tacoma with no abs, still electric.
Pic of cluster with trim removed....

The electronic signal is the same, one pulse every 10cm traveled.
There were two mechanical speedometers with differing input size, the larger ones have an insert to mate with the cable which is the same diameter
