Replace A/C cost
#2
That's a pretty open ended question. What's wrong with it? Replacing the AC could mean alot of things. Something as simple as a recharge or maybe something more elaborate like a compressor replacement, etc.
What motor?

Thanks for the response. The '88 22RE 4cyl I'm looking at has a burst AC hose. When the owner got the truck his mechanic went through it and put the dye in it to test the system for leaks. During the re-pressuring it, the hose burst. The AC had never been tested before the hose burst. So, at a minimum I'm looking at replacing the hose and recharing the system. Do you know the costs of this?
Worst case---the compressor is gone, right? New hose, compressor, recharing, etc. Idea of costs. The rest of the truck is totally redone and in amazing shape. I just live in a hot, humid environment and will be hauling kids around in it.
Thanks for the help.

Hose burst
On a similar note my bro tried to convert his sons 90 honda prelude over to 134a. When recharging the system the high pressure hose burst. I grabbed a new one from the junkyard fo him and he wanted a dryer also, thinking his was plugged and caused the hose to pop. He never installed the dryer because his original was not plugged after taking it loose and testing it. Installed the new / used hose and it charged fine. We surmised the hose was either weak or slightly plugged itself as the air works great now.
Maybe an A/c person can weigh in here and educate all of us as to y this can happen.
