removing parts of the dash?

Ok, I want to remove the plastic pices around the heater vents on my 87 4runner! How do I go about doing this with out breaking them? I dont know if you guys have heard of camo diping, but I want to take the trim pieces off around the heater vents to have them dipped.

its a madd pita to pull them.. but it is possible.

the air vents have brass spring clips either on the bottom/ or top of the vent itself.
and
w/the age of the vents, its very possible they break when you try to pry them out.

there are bolts to keep the dash on, adn its very easy to remove 'IF" you know where they are..

the triksiest one is behind the passenger side vent..inside the vent is crazy i know, and i needed a flashlight to find mine (88 and 86 4x4)...

hope that helps
btw. i can take some pix of one later...if you need them- pm

The vent next to the passenger door has to be removed to get to a nut.
There are spring clips, two on top and two on the bottom.
