Remflex gasket smoking

I had an exhaust leak so I installed a remflex gasket and when I started the truck up the gasket started smoking. Is this suppose to happen until the exhaust burns off the gasket coating? Or did I mess something up?

Come to think, it might just be antifreeze burning off.

I think I'm having the same problem, I just replaced the o ring gasket that mounts to the 3 stud down pipe before the cat and when I started the truck up it smoked from the gasket a bit. Is this also normal?
