Relocate motor driven antenna

Hey yall.
I was wondering if any of you have replaced the motor driven antenna with a normal one?. If you have what kind of antenna would you use and is it harder than it seems? Is it just a matter of taking the fender off and taking out the motor and wiring up the new antenna?

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Yotatech.

There is another thread about the exact same topic on the same 86-95 Trucks & 4Runners forum.

OEM non power mast. Nothing to it.
