I would have no problems taking my 86 22r on a 1000 mile road trip. When I bought it I had to drive it 250 miles home with an altenator held in with a prybar and lamp wire and several other questionable deccisons made by the PO and after all of those repairs it has never let me down. Even when driving to work and back (200 miles a day with about 100 of that in 4hi) or the one 500 mile trip I had to make when the pass was closed.

The nice things about Toyota's is they run I have owned 2 Toyota's in my life so far and while both of them have had a few issues none of those would keep me from driving across country if I had to. I have had more issues with newer domestic trucks on long drives then I have had with my Toyota's

Hopefully recalling the good time you had over spring break and the reliability of your truck made the time pass

I think that can be said about most vehicles

I love it when a plan comes together. And if it doesn't, it just an adventure.

yes, but they keep running when others don't. I sometimes think of a toyota like an old diesel, they don't need much to run and they keep running no matter how beat up they are. just keep plugging along.

Not too bad I guess, there was a lot of changing scenery. You definitely have to shift your weight around though or you'll get really sore spots on your behind. And I was listening to music the whole time, pulling over every few hours for gas, etc, so it was broken up some.

I also had to stop a few times in hilly & hot central Texas for A/T Trans Temp lights.
