Looks original. Paint code is under hood on metal tag. Usually 3 letters or a mix of letters and numbers. Write down everything on the tag and go to a paint shop. They can look it up based on your vehicle and tag data.

It most likely is. My 93 you see here is actually the factory color which is Cardinal red:
Give me the code and I can tell you. It is on the drivers door jam.

c/tr 3n7/fn11

could the paint code possibly be in the glove compartment?
this tag i found was on the driver side.

ok i looked it up,
the c/tr means color/trim so mine is 3n7, now i have to look that up.
ok 3n7 in toyota color is "pale rose pearl" which was made from 1998 and up.. so obviously my truck is a different color.. is there any way of finding an exact match?

It's a shame about the hood. In your picture, the paint looks pretty good otherwise.
A couple of the paintshops in this area (that mix and sell paint and painting supplies) have a device (scanner) that they can put on your car to match the paint. Sort of like the device at home depot used to match house paint.
I have never had to use it so I don't know how accurate it is at reading colors.

If you go to a good paint shop they'll be able to get the color right on. don't go to Maaco, they are terrible. It is ashame though it is a nice looking red and nice looking truck!

Don't try to get the actual color of your truck from a digital camera. What you see with the naked eye is often not exactly what the camera replicates depending on lighting and the lense.
They'll have to match the color on the spot. Even if it is original toyota red, it has likely faded a bit.
