red led next to dimmer knob
I just got a 94 4runner and there is red led between the dimmer knob and the clutch start cancel button. the led was off yesterday now it is on and I can't figure out how to get it to shut off. I'm sure it's something stupid, but it's driving me crazy.

I have/had the same light on mine. Its an alarm of some sort.
I took out the box after finally kinda figuring out how to set the dmn thing off....
I talked to a guy at autozone who knows what he is talking about, he said it is probably in valet (didnt prob spell that right) mode, but should have some sort of remote with it. Went a couple places to try and find a remote, but couldnt. It doesnt have much identification to it....
Anyway, RULES TO SET IT OFF (sometimes it works... just mess around with it.lol.)
Turn switch below (its a metal toggle switch at the bottom of you "dash"area. Right above where your left leg prob is while driving.
take off battery neg. put it back on.
then roll down back window with key, or open door once or twice. (may need to lock. idk. Never really got it down to a science. just got it to go off a couple times.)
It is tied into the main horn... So have a feeling it might actually be OEM... but dont know. If you figure it out. Post, or let me know. Might actually install the main box again. lol.

Thank's Gokumono I was going under the dash to cut the wire and saw the little hidden switch. flip the switch cycle the key and no more light. SWEET!! the guy I bought the 4runner from must have lost the remote.

There is a black box down, or should be. And some kind of relay. I just pulled the box. (think it was black, have a brown box floatin around my 4runner, and might of takin that out too. lol.), but you can just pull that if you don't want to worry about it.
Post here if you or anyone else finds out how or where to get a remote. or even more details. Would like to know more. I have a good feeling it IS oem, but the guy at autozone thought it wasn't. I think it is just because so many have them, and they look the same.

oh no, maybe it was the anti-terminator device...
I hear it was a common feature that many people installed when T3 came out, becuase the cutting-edge computer graphics were so realistic, it scared them...
