One minor problem I still need to fix for my 1993 4Runner - the power antenna mast is broken. It doesn't fully extend or retract when the radio is on. It's not the motor but the antenna mast. The plastic "gear" attached to the antenna probably broke.

I'm looking for a replacement. Went to the local Toyota dealership's parts department and they want over $50 just for the mast. Looked online and they are selling OEMs at $40-$50 for the mast. Went on EBay and they're still $40-$50 for used ones.

Is there an online vendor that sells OEM-compatible power antenna masts for a cheaper price?

 

Try Parts Geeks. They have mast for around $35, but with shipping it wouldn't be much cheaper than a OEM one that you know fits and works.

 

If the part number is 86337-89126(superceded to 86337-34030) than its $30.00 +shipping on Amayama. Obviously not worth the shipping unless you order other things to dilute the cost.
I doubt the gear broke. That cable was easily the weakest link. They broke all the time. Sometimes they broke in such a way that when the radio was turned on the mast would raise and come completely out and start whipping around like a bull whip.
