Recommendation for H6054 Conversion to LED
Hi Folks
I have a 1986 4wd sr5 efi truck and was wondering if anyone has replaced their halogen headlamps with LED ones?
Looking for recommendation as well as no modifications to existing wiring, if possible
Thks

I commented in another thread on this. My daily driver 87 has the led conversion but it was suggested to use an adapter harness. This harness plugs into your OEM headlight plug and has 2 extra wires, one to ground and other to positive. I don't believe the OEM light switch would work well with LED but I also didn't try to test it. The 40 dollar insurance that it would work without issue was worth it to me.
Mine had integrated DRL which I wired into the side markers, I hate DRL as the only vehicles with DRLs should be motorcycles and they kill the lifespan of bulbs.
I also have integrated turn signals which I used because of my winch bumper having no signal light provisions.
This meant I pulled apart the OEM blinker relay to remove a resistor to allow it to blink at a normal speed with the LED, I have standard bulbs in the back.
I need to remember to take a night time pic. I'm very pleased with the light spread. I've not been bright lighted so I'm assuming I'm not too bright for oncoming traffic. It's deer season so it's important to have good lights and there's always the dumb meth head wearing all black waking on a backwoods country road. I'd like to avoid hitting both.

Toyotas use a switched ground circuit, which will not work with LEDs, as they are polarity sensitive. So yes, you will need a conversion harness.
Fantastic video testing different sealed beam LED conversions. They are not all the same!
