wow this was a brain overload reading this thread! anyway, if your interested, i have an '89 runner that i'm thinking about doing an engine swap in. it is a V-6 auto with less than 5000 miles on the engine. i have receipts almost totalling $3000.00. runs great. if your interested, let me know.

 

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this thread. I'm in the same position except I'm not doing frame off. I would love to just throw a new 3.0 in my 91 runner. I bought the truck for 900$ and it is sweet other than the blown head gasket. I just want to get the thing on the road and if I got 50k out of a rebuilt engine I would be happy with that ! What did you end up doing or your truck?
