I have not looked for Denso slip rings, but they're probably out there. Maybe Ebay?? I have bought several denso brush cassettes there.
I have rebuilt numerous Ford alternators, including new slip-rings. Some times you can press the new rings on and they will be concentric with the shaft, but if they are out more than a couple thousandths, the new rings really need to be made true on a lathe.
It is always good to rebuild components if you possibly can, it just makes you feel good to do it. and it always gives a you a better understanding of what is really going on with your machine.
As to what's the same??? I can't say. If you've got others take 'em apart and measure.
