reasons to buy marlin crawler bumpers (pics)

...mine...

...his...

picture taken after we pulled the fender and grill out of the wheel well and off tire... was about a foot further back.

tonight we were doin some snow wheelin up in the mountains and it had a good 4-5 inches of powder plus a layer of ice under it on the road... anywho, we were goin a little faster than we should have been, drifting (lol) around the s-turns, i started to slide a little more than i liked and for some reason tapped the brakes (its a no-no on ice) and slid off the road into about 3 feet of powder at bout 25-30... that was all fine up untill i felt the Mitsubishi montaro follow right behind, crunch!

damage report-

MINE- tail gait slightly dented, rear bumper has small kink and slid on frame a little, and mysteriously blew the right head light

HIS-ripped through grill, crunched right headlight, tore through radiator, kinked hood in half, kinked right fender in half, ripped out right front body mount (sheared bolt), crunched plastic fan into peices, and charcol canister is somehow on top of engine now. luckily his engine wasn't damaged and was only leaking coolant... (note: he bought the truck 3 days ago)

plus i used the d-shackles and towed him all the way back to his house...

lesson 1-slow down on ice and snow!

lesson 2-make sure the driver behind you has room between ya

lesson 3-Marlin Crawlers rear bumper saved my truck! thank you marlin crawler...you should be very proud to know it maybe kinked the bumper a 1/2 inch forward... damn i got lucky!

Yeah I've got MC's front and rear on the truck and it was over 700$ to buy them and get them shipped but it's what I wanted. I haven't been in an accident with them but I've bounced off of plenty of rocks and trees and so far so good.

Some chick in a car side swiped my stock plastic rocker guards and demolished her headlight and fender. There was only a mark on the rocker guard.

I think a lot of that was older truck vs newer car for me...

MC rear bumpers are the shiz!

My 1st time wheelin' with mine was in snow, slid down into a rut and slammed the corner of the bumper into a hill with a lot of force (i was full throttle trying to get it up and out of the rut)...if the bumper wasn't there, the whole back corner of my 4runner would have needed surgery. But the bumper and 4Runner came out unharmed, only scratched my crappy paint job.
Proof

Marlin make amazing stuff

you may want to rethink lesson 3...vehicles are designed to crush on impact for a reason to save lives. The bumper may have saved your truck from serious damage but it could have easily broken your neck too! Glad to see your OK.

Round 1 goes to the toyota!

Hehehe nice, well ty for that guy(your homie?). But yeah, bumpers crush to save lives. The reason your ffront light "mysteriously blew out" was forward enercia... You know like when you hold a quarter with your finger tight and put another touching it on the other side then slide a 3erd one into the one your holding.... The otherone go flying. Same concept. Good to see the yota came out on top.

P.S. Is there no spell check?
