Another problem I'm having with the 94 Runner. The rear door light is on all the time and the rear window will go down (with key or switch) but when I try to roll it up with either method, I have to open and shut the gate first. Otherwise I just get three beeps. I've searched for a door switch that would tell it that the door is open but couldn't find one.

The PO said he just had the "guts redone" in the tail gate so the window would go up and down.

Any Ideas where I should start?

sounds like he may not have plugged the latch sensor in, or the sensor has failed. Thats the only thing that can cause the light to come on.

Thanks, I'll check that as soon as it warms up a bit. Not a huge problem, but very annoying.
