I recently made discos for the front. They've made a big difference offroad IMO. Now I'm looking at the rear. The rear sway bar on my 95 runner seems pretty wimpy. I'm really not sure how much it is impeding travel/flex (if at all). Is it worth my time to make quick disconnects for it? Does anyone have experience with rear discos and was the difference worth while?

FYI, I'm running Downey HD coils and bilsteins.

I ditched mine on my 95 runner, never noticed a difference. I put in on and off a few times and just left it off, IMO its too small to be of any good, the coils are crazy soft and would take a HUGE swaybar to help. Its not hard to max travel of the rear...

after putting on the OME heavy duty rear coils, I yanked off the rear sway bar. No noticeable difference, especially with those stiff arse springs!

prolly disconnect the front sway or something here in the future.

I made disco's for my front and rear swaybars on my '92. The front makes a HUGE difference but I'm not really sure I ever feel a difference in the rear off-road. Still, I do feel like the rear stays a little better put on-road with the rear there so I haven't taken it off. I have a rear lunchbox locker and it seems a little more squirrelly with the rear dosconnected, so I just use my diconnects and don't worry about it.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I was thinking. The sway bar is so flimsy, it probably doesn't make much of a difference offroad. I guess it wouldn't hurt to make some cheap discos anyway. Maybe I'll get out tomorrow and experiment a little with the bar connected & disconnected. I'll let you guys know what I find.

I havn't had any problems flexing mine out all the way in the rear with the swaybar connected. The passenger upper link hitting the gas tank is the main thing messing with flex. That and tires rubbing on the frame. After watching Phalanx drive on a windy road without his rear swaybar, I decided that I would just stick with removing my front and keep the rear.
