rear suspension clunk
Hey All!
Figured i would post this and see if anybody else had similar problem. About 4 months ago I upgraded the suspension on the ol' 4runner to med. duty old man emu all around. Took it for a few fun runs to relax everything out, and all seemed well. Afterwards i tightened down all the nuts and bolts just to make sure nothing loosened up.
So the problem is: for about the past month whenever i go over a large bump with any speed (bad driveway at 5+mph, or forest service roads) and i will get a loud clunk noise out of the rear suspension. I went in and tightened everything down again, just to make sure that wasn't it.
Well last weekend i went out hunting with my buddies family, and with a couple of people in the backseat, and a small amount of gear (less than 50lbs of gear, probably 300-350lbs of back seat passangers) all i hear is the damn clunking noise. The thing sounds like the rear axle is about to rattle itself to pieces over any bump!! Any ideas what could be causing this?
Its starting to get mighty cold here, so i figured i would see if anybody had some suggestions before busting knuckles on the darn thing.
Thanks All!

Sounds like a worn out bushing in one of the links to me. I get a similar clunk noise from a worn out ball joint in the front suspention. Id try just gettign udner there and give each link a good pull see if you notice any play.
