Rear R&P install problems

Hi. I'm new posting here, but I've referred to this forum many times in the past!

I have a '94 p/u. My friend is setting up my rear gears, and he's having trouble. I could used some help, and sorry, right now I have no pics. Will try to post some later.

He's installing a 5.29 set from Motive and an Aussie locker. I'm not too up on the terminology, so please bear with me. I'll paraphrase what he told me:

The coast side looks good, but on the drive side, the teeth are connecting more on the toe of ring gear. When he shimmed the pinion with the supplied .080" shim, it wasn't enough, so he added .020". Now it's hitting the carrier, and he's unable to spin the system to check the pattern. Does this make any sense?

I have made 6 calls to Motive for technical assistance -- none of which have been answered -- and left three messages. Please help!!

Post pics of drive and coast patterns. If you are putting an Aussie in then you must have a 22RE and 4 cyl gears. You can read everything off the ring....or take a picture of it and I can make sure you have the correct ring and pinion. ZUK
