Rear Leaf Springs?? 2wd 4wd difference? interchangeable?

Anybody know if you could swap the rear leafs from a 87 4x4 pickup into the rear of an 89 4Runner? I know they need to match up width and length wise but would I have any weight carrying issues cause Runners seem to have more weight in the back
