1994 4Runner V6 4X4 all stock. No changes to rear suspension.

I noticed today that my truck rear left side is lower than the right by 1/2". I thought it looked weird so I measured it in several places. Sure enough, the right side is taller.

I've done my research, looks like I have to buy new coil springs.

Here is my shopping list

OME Torsion bar set OME303003 $163
OME Springs OME 900 $138
OME Nitrocharger Shock OMEN72F - for two $154
OME Steering Stabilizer for 90-95 OMESD33 $69

Im keeping my front shocks. Do I need to buy the Torsion bar and steering stabilizer?
I was hoping to buy just the coil springs and shocks to be done with it.

its just a 1/2 inch. is all that time and money worth just a 1/2? is the back saggy anyway?

 

Yeah, Im trying to solve the sag. I have to tow my 2000lb trailer for camping this summer. My runner looks stupid as it sags severely hauling my trailer.

After communicating with a member here, Im thinking just get the coil springs and shocks for now. Hoping the coil springs will resolve the sag and level the truck. The shocks will get replaced just they are old and I have them out.

the spring sag is extremely common...especially in 4runners and especially if it usually only has one person riding in it the majority of the time..hence the DS sag.

 

As others have said the spring sag is very common.

If it is a side to side discrepancy there are a TON of factors that may play into it.
When you say left side I assume you mean driver side - think about the weight of the person driving being on that same side for the life of the vehicle...that'll do it.

Yes, after much research, I realize the sag is common.

I guess I'm afraid of is if I tow my trailer and the rear sags so poorly, will I put my family in danger as Im driving? My fear is it is dangerous to drive the truck with it sagging, my kids in the truck and hauling a 2000 lb trailer

I may just go back to my original plan and just put in the AirLift 1000 in the rear and be done with all this.

I don't know if it'll help, but what about trying some of those spring spacers?

And that leads me to another question, I have have spring spacers on the rear and I'm starting to get the dreaded sag on the drivers rear too. My question is, can I add a couple more on that side to level it out since it's only about 1/2" lower than the pass side? And how many spacers would be too much?

Just wondering because after I try this I'll have 4 spacers on one spring. Just thought it might be a cheap fix because a st of 2 of em is only about $8.00

any opinions?

 

If you've got the money then I highly recommend the OME setup - might as well do it right from the beginning.

You won't be putting your family in danger - not that I can see anyway.
Just use common sense while hauling it and you should be fine, the sagging will just mean you'll bottom out sooner than you should.

I wouldn't use spacers period - I have had nothing but bad luck with them.
If it were me I would just replace the springs all together and do it right from the beginning.

Yes, I have the money and willing to spend it. Alright Fink, sounds like you feel I should go with this set up. Is there anything here I shouldnt get or get benefit from? Otherwise, Iwill purchase these tomorrow.

If the rear is sagging, why are you getting new torsion bars and steering stabilizers?
Just get some new rear leafs and shocks and it'll fix the sag..
Or make a custom leaf pack out of a bunch of other packs.

 

Why the torsion bars and steering stabilizer?
The rear springs and shocks will fix it - question, those springs are they designed to be "lift" springs or just stock height?
OME traditionally has several different spring rates for their products - which level are those springs?

He has a 4Runner so leafs won't help him much.
