this just started the other day....its an 89 4runner, 3L auto, backed up in my parents yard, went to leave....felt like something was dragging in the rear end, backed up and forward a few times, it went away

now today in the snow.....was shoveling...backed up out of my driveway, put it in drive and tried to pull back in....something was binding in one side and started to drag the truck sideways...back up its fine....forward binds


possible that i spun off a brake pad off the shoe ? i'm gonna pull the wheels and drums when it stops snowing to check.....

btw the e brake doesn't work and something may have let go inside, the lever just spins around in circles...does all

 

Well, if it's not ice, it sounds like the brakes fell apart. Probably a broken spring or barrel adjuster or both or....
