It is your truck but I would be worried about that thing taking in water. I am pretty sure you get big Tstorms up north there and sometimes find large amounts of standing water in road intersections and stuff like we do down here. Just remember that when your puddle itch happens.

yeah im aware of that....im thinkin up something to prevent water from coming up from underneath...we'll see...i can always put it back...takes not 5 minutes

I have been hesitant to do anything to my intake because of the all the lines and tubes attached to the stock air box and what to do with them all. Is there really any need for all this plastic. Just my $.02.

When I removed my old 3.0 airbox I was astounded how little the opening was for the intake of the box. IIRC it looked like it had to suck all the air from the very small slits around the headlights. IMHO the 3VZ could benefit from some kind of "deck plate mod" more than the 5VZ.
