Have you They go eventually on these engines. I just replaced mine along with new OEM belts and it is much smoother now.

Good Luck.

isn't the blade plastic?

I've seen older steel ones warp and cause vibration, but I've never seen plastic ones warp and cause vibration. I HAVE however seen then grenade and shatter (had an 88 Isuzu Pickup do that to me at about 5k RPMs... scared the bajesus out of me...), and I've also seen them just loose one blade and cause a SERIOUS vibration, or even just loose a corner of a blade and cause a slight vibration. I just have a hard time seeing a plastic blade warp, at least not with the kind of plastic they are made out of; it's too hard and heat resistant to be warped easily, IMO

It is very possible that the balancer is giving you the issue, if it is wobbling like you say it is.

Another source of the vibration could be just an out or tune, or out of time, engine.

Sure looks like your harmonic balancer is causing the vibration.

On the 2nd one, it looks like to me your fan bracket is going out. Either broken bracket or bad bearing. If that goes while you're at high rpms it can really do some damage from flying parts.

Kind of an old thread, but I thought I'd share my story too.
recently had my stock fan shatter. It took out the radiator, fan shroud, and some of the airbox in the process. Got all but the shroud replaced and a week later the new fan is visibly warped and flapping around like crazy, which is setting off my knock sensor.

Kind of curious if that vibration is setting off your sensor as well

How do you know your knock sensor is setting off? You mean you're getting a CEL for it?

Its the fan idler bearing going bad. Yes the wobble will cause the fan to break eventually.

Yeah, I checked the code and im getting 52 and 25. happened with the old fan a few days before it shattered. After the new fan was installed the codes went away and the truck ran great. Then after about 1000 miles the codes came back, truck lost A LOT of power and efficiency. I checked the fan and you can see it has warped, causing it to wobble like crazy at about 3k rpm.
