Radiator with 4 coolant ports? (pics inside)

Ok yesterday I pulled my radiator and was my coolant was pefectly clean (oddly enough) until I pulled the two small lines on the radiator. (circled in red)

A buddy of mine said that is for the tranny cooler, but I thought our tranny cooler was separate from the radiator? What are the two lines for and what fluid should they be carrying?

oh cool! thanks!

next question - take a look at this pic. Btwn fuel injector #2 (hidden under fuel rail)and #4 there appears to be a fluid of some kind. It was there the last time I yanked the plenum off about a year ago, and I cleaned it up then. It's found in none of the other valleys. Does the lower intake have any coolant ports? If not then it would have to be the TB coolant line that was leaking then?
