Questions for those who have retrofitted A/C on a 22R
My never ending A/C project is now into its second month and it's getting hot as hell out here. I have fitted the a/c box inside the cab which went smoothly except the wiring part still have yet to find the correct sub-harness for the A/C amplifier, pressure witch etc.
I caved in and bought a new condensor, hoses, drier.
Is the A/C amplifier the same for both the 22r and 22re.?
Is the VSV and related wiring and tubing already installed on the 22R or is this something else I have to retrofit.
Where is the plug for the A/C compressor clutch and where does that go? Another sub-harness I suppose?
I have a FSM, but it has no real instructions on retrofitting A/C into a truck that never had it.
Anyone have any supplement instructions for retrofitting an 85 22R with A/C? My local dealer is a waste of time when it comes to looking for stuff like this help and the techs are all so young they never have seen a second gen truck that has been retrofitted new.
It does not help that a lot of the parts are now NLA like the sub harness I need. My local salvage yards never have any trucks to get an idea of how this stuff went together.
