A question for the Turbo guys

is there a stock boost gauge for the 22RET? Like most stock gauges its probably more of an on-off kind of readout like the dumby temp gauge that never changes once its warmed up, so that means its telling you that you are either in boost or vacuum in the intake manifold. Hooking up an aftermarket one is VERY simple. Just run a piece of tubing from any vacuum port on the intake manifold which is AFTER the throttle body to the back of the gauge. Most likely you would T into one of the existing lines, for example to the fuel pressure regulator ( if it has a vac port, just guessing as an example, I'm only familiar with supra 7Ms )

The light comes on at exactly 1psi of boost and is very accurate on my truck.
I've got a electric autometer boost/vac guage hooked to a delco map sensor, when it's cold it always gives me false readings but the light is always accurate measured on a static pressure guage.
The boost guage is hooked in to a unused port on the switch that turns on the boost light that is on the INBD side of the intake manifold.
I'm out of town and away from my truck so I can't supply you with a pic. Maybe someone else would be nice enough to snap a shot of theirs.

just go get a mechanical boost gauge and tap an open spot on your intake plenum, run the hardline that comes with it to you cab and mount the gauge. Easy as pie. Literally took me 25 minutes to do on our 6.5L turbo diesel that didnt have a boost gauge.

Oh I never realised there was a dash like that. Kinda neat in a 80's sorta way. Just plumb in a boost guage and away you go.

If I didn't have a project for it, I'd sell it. This unit was in my old 4Runner before it got flipped. Now I have a 85 4Runner that I'm putting the turbo motor in.
