So the turbo was taken off the truck?

yes, that Turbo is GONE! It took the 1st thing smoking!

It just flew into Albuquerque, and boy are it's arms tired!

i think this is the circle you were talking about. its not drilled or tapped so would you assume that its just the 22re block?

Yes there is a difference between '86 and '89 exhaust manifolds. '86 usually had the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, like as pictured, '89's were just before the catalytic converter further down the pipe.

I think that the "oil cooler" under the oil filter is actually an oil pressure sender unit for your gauge cluster. Those are found in the same location on 22RE's
