Right now, it's not so much the cost, as it is the time. I'm sure I can dig up a cluster locally, didn't know if anyone had an old one hanging around. I really only need the back of it and the clear lens.

And I don't want to take anyone's keepsake away from them, just to have it gutted out.

I'm going to say between 150 and 200 dollars in parts you can do that or even better. Time now thats another matter,

Ya, the parts are around that much. The last one took me 6 months to plan and fabricate. And that time=$$$

hey, so if i sent you a basic cluster out of an 88 p/u would you be able to fab up a good lookin cluster like the one you described thats plug and play?

I would need to make a prototype, not really for anyone in particular to start. After that, I might be able to churn a couple out. It's already on my list of things to do.

Those are also touchscreens. Can you imagine the amount of work that took to interface with the heater controls, plus every other conceivable option he has available at his fingertips?

I'm tossing around the idea of a carputer for next year. A buddy has one and the amount of stuff he can do with it is awesome.
