even though this was a 'used' kit I purchased, it bolted up straight through to the frame without any issues at all..... Can't say the stock/ OEM 'kit' wouldn't have issues though since what I bought came with Rancho shocks instead of the ProComp shocks... however, I can't see the ProComp shocks being THAT much larger in diameter than the Rancho's to require clearancing the frame... particularly when the front shocks mount outboard of the frame at the bottom and are still outboard from the frame at the top.

Well, I thought it was silly too. I'm willing to bet the procomp shocks are the same size as the ranchos and I couldn't believe it either but the scrape marks and subsequent dents from that corner of the bracketry made me a believer. Maybe, I shouldn't say "frame" per say, but where the new drop bracket mounts to where the bumpstop use to go(the little white arrow). Plus, my instructions say to do it.

guess I'm gonna have to go out in the morning and take photos of my procomp II lift showing the shocks DON'T hit the lift brackets.
you could look at this photo (note no scratches in the paint on the shock after a year of use):

and see it... but I'll get photos when the light is better.

It is possible that my lift bracket may vary from yours. The shocks only hit at full extension. Like I said, after the main alignment to true the suspension up after the lift there was a HUGE gap between the shock and the brace. Also, I've relaxed my torsion bars to where they're suppose to be. It is wierd that yours didn't have that INITIAL problem.
Now if I could only decide on a winch bumper...where's ScottyC at...!

I doubt your lift kit varies much from mine, but looking at the pics, your shocks may be a larger diameter body than mine.

Old thread but I could use some advise. I am in the middle of installing the stage 2 kit on my 91 SR5 x-cab. I have the front completely on except for the strut bars. The holes in the bracket that mount to the frame dont line up. Well one of the two holes does on the drivers side. I cant get either bolt in on the passenger side.
Its as if the bar is too long. I think I will have to modify the bar. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this before...
