Problems associated with Tropical Storm.

I'm sure you guys are tired of hearing about this damn storm here in florida, but i need some help. Yesterday, i was trying to go home on a usually busy 6 lane road, when it is flooded out. (water to bottom of door). Well driving through it, the truck just shut off. With no warning. Thank God for my tow rope. a guy in a jacked up suburban pulled me to dry land. Tried to start. It turned over just fine, just didnt start. no spark.. Anyway, all of this is contributed to the efi fuse......

The problem i have today, after i got her running, (white smoke from exhaust, can only hope it is from water in muffler.) the shifter refuses to change gears. Where do i start, is there a fuse, relay attached to the shift lock solenoid...
When i depress the brake, i hear a click from the dash, but nothing from the shifter.

Sounds like you got water in places you never really want it! You might have flooded your CAT. and i know that in some rare cases it can cause BIG issues, which is one reason i removed mine.

Change ALL you fluids.

I have driven through water as deep as 1inch lower than the intake and i had no issue. but i did not have a CAT. If you want pics of what i drove through let me know.

I want to see the pics. It's always cool seeing pics of someone doing what others say isn't possible.

Pics sound cool, but my cat was removed by previous owner, and there is a test pipe in its place. I would like to find info before i tare apart the center console.

make sure all the connectors in the engine bay are dry.
also, there's a reason why the efi fuse blew.

does this mean we can now also blame truck problems on global warming?

Drowning out your truck in high water isn't possible? Sounds like it is!

OP - Glad you got it going again. What a bummer and insult to be pulled out by a Suburban!

Honestly the whole suburban experience is one that i do not wish to remember. the @$$ hole towed me and when i got to my house, HE DEMANDED $40. Note, this wasn't even a mile of a tow, granted i would given the prick something, but damn, don't demand from me. Needless to say, he made some money doing this all day, i seen him tow others........
