Power steering pump issue
So I’m new to this I’ve read the forums for years never made an account or posted, a little about my wheeler which might help, I have a 1989 Toyota 4Runner sas’d locker geared trussed gusseted etc, I have a problem with my power steering pumps blowing, I have trail gear hi-steer and an ifs power steering box, my problems started mid snow season last year I was in a ditch and turned into the bank and my pump squealed and it blew my cap off and the pump was toast, ever since then any pump I put in only works until I lock my hubs or in 2wd but only in 2wd will it blow the pump if I’m at full lock and wrapped out, they never squeal either anymore they just go from perfect to nothing within the first wheelin trip with the pump, I get all the air out by jack in the truck up and turning the wheels back and forth with the truck off while adding fluid to prime it and then go from there. Any help would be great I’ve gone through 5 or 6 pumps now I’ve just been warranting them hoping it was a bad pump but obviously that’s not the case. Oh I also use atf fluid. Thanks
