Power steering pressure hose '91 4Runner

Hi,

According to the local mechanic, the hose is leaking. OEM from dealer is $300.

He suggested going OEM. Any other options?

Sorry if anyone saw this before I was finished (someone here, dogs barking...). Anyway, mechanic suggested OEM for fit purposes. Is there a good place to buy OEM? As I said, the local dealer wanted $300 for the assembly (hose, and I guess a lot of stuff that comes with it).

Thanks

On second thought. Actually just checked those sites, $300 looks like a deal installed.

The $300 is for the part from the dealer. I'll check out those links.

Thanks.

for my 22re, I bought one at Advance Auto Parts, and it was pretty good quality

of caurse anything that's not OEM is just not going to be OEM quality, but it was still very good qulity, and it fit perfect, and did it's job

This was the hose for my 91 Pickup with a 22re. $32

This is the hose for a 91 4Runner WITHOUT ABS. $50

This is the hose for a 91 4Runner WITH ABS. $58

Or take the hose to a hydraulic place (heavy equipment place) and have them make you one using your nuts. Prob same price as above.

Hey,

Thanks to you all for the advice. I will try the Advance Auto parts, and the others.

So I went to the AAP website, and man, OEM is expensive compared to the others.

My 4Runner does have ABS, but rear only, so I want the ABS one?

Also, what is the third choice, the one that states "for gear..." (a $65 value)?

Thanks again.

A hydraulic shop should be able to make a new hose, of better material, for less than $100. Take the old hose for length, and reuse of the old hose ends and make sure the ends are clocked in the proper orientation.

These are the three:

The "to gear..." is different. Perhaps feeds the rear brakes?

Thanks.

I have to mention I am not working on it, hence I have no idea what the thing looks like. I guess I should print off the pics and bring it to the mechanic.
