Angry Power steering part time

I recently went on a hunting trip and had to replace the power steering pump. Now it only works part of the time. At first it was fine few miles later no powersteering. Do I need to bleed the system or is the pump bad.

bleed it,park on an incline,front end up,start up and take cap off. make sure reservoir if full at all times.
