power locks are locking/unlocking themselves

So my power locks are locking and unlocking themselves. It's a 94 4Runner. this problem just started. we are sitting in the car while it's running and the locks are just going up and down without anyone touching them. if we try to use the button to lock or unlock them, it sort of works but not consistently. as of right now the unlock button does not work or make any noise.

i did have my window open a little during a light rain while I was sitting in the car and some water got on the drivers side lock and window buttons. could that have caused this problem?? it happened immediately after that. the window was only open for about 15 minutes.

any help would be great

I had that exact problem. For me it was a Leakey windshield. the module fill up with water and was shorting out.

thank you! I will look into this. do you think it's possible this was caused by me leaving the window open (like 2 inches) while it rained? it's been a couple hours and nothing has changed. lock function works, unlock function does not. so far the doors are not locking and unlocking themselves again. but something is clearly wrong with the lock button.
