Power Issues
guys,
I replaced my water pump and timing belt this past weekend, and now i am having power issues and i am guzzling gas and to get my 4runner idling correctly i had to turn my distributor almost all the way up. Any ideas of what to do now, i am sure it is a timing issue, but do y'all have tips or trick of how to get this done.

Tear it all the way back down and put it in time! Your one tooth out of time with the belt! You gotta remeber when you do a timing belt to make sure all the slack is on the tensioner side of the belt, put everything on the marks, make sure all the slack you can get is on the tensioner side then roll the engine two full revolutions and make sure it all lines back up on the marks, this is something that alot of people do, don't feel bad, I done the same thing with mine I just happened to catch it when I spun the engine around and the cams didnt line all the way back up! It's not hard to get one cog out with them being so close together on that belt
