got the truck a few months ago from my dad. decided to clean it up a bit...

damaged driver's fender replaced, decals removed, and buffed and waxed all the imperfections out of the paint. it's nice and shinny now!

also, trimmed the lower valence. lovin' it!

recently ordered 4 crawler 1.5" bj spacers, 1" diff drop, toytec 2" aal, procomp extended front and rear shocks, and atx 16x8 mojave teflon wheels. looking into getting either bfg km2 or pro comp xtreme at in 285/75/16. suggestions on tires?

well theres a BIG difference in the tires...one is an All terrain..and the other is a mud terrain..depends on what you spend most of the time on...pavement..or mud/rocks lol

Size: 96.8 KBdoesn't it look like my driverside torsion bar might be cranked just a TAD more than the other??? i only ask because whenever i hit a bump going about 60..it doesn't bounce straight up and down..it's like the passenger side comes down first then the driverside..but it happens quickly..which makes me thing the driverside is stiffer and therefore cranked slightly more.

Hmmm, do tell, bud! lol. Now you got me busting a brain vain trying to pointlessly guess what you're gonna do. That thing, honest, is SICK, in my opinion. Really stands nice and yet, seems a bit high...4" trailmaster, eh? Ok, so they do it where there's not as much stress on the CV's, or less than if you did spacers and a big T-bar crank, right? . Great looking truck man.

yessir you're correct..i believe my torsions are cranked in the front though...haven't taken the time to check it out lol

wellll...i noticed my steering get pretty sloppy today coming back from college..so gotta fix that.

long term plans are V8 or Diesel, supra 8" front diff, blazeland LT on top of my 4" bracket lift, 37x12.50R20's....yes i like big wheels, custom front bumper or badlands front bumper, 4xinnovations rear bumper, wabfab sliders, budbuilt skids, lockers and 5.29's front and rear, Smittybuilt XRC-10, lifted land cruiser coils in the rear (coils designed to lift a LAND CRUISER about 3"...so i'll get like 6" or 7" on my 4runner), either wheel spacers or wider rear axle......and at that point...i'll likely sell it sadly..to do what i think i'll wanna do in the future..will take too much work in the rear..eventually i want to be on 40's...and it's hard to fit 40's in the rear without tubbing the hell out of it..and i can just throw a flatbed on a pickup and be fine. i want to take the 4" lift and blazeland it as far as i can take it before i go solid axle...yea it'll happen eventually.

plans are NEVER set in stone though until they happen....i can honestly say if i got a '98-2002 4x4 dodge diesel, then i'd sell my 4runner asap.

in the end when i'm well established in my career, i want a DO IT ALL RIG...something i can take out to the mud pits..roll through the nastiest mud hole out there..head up the trail and do some serious rock crawling, then drive it home...full size axles with selectable lockers are in my future, as well as a big ole V8.

Goal right now is to have a dependable 4runner that i can drive anywhere i want to basically, ifs will do me just fine for that task, however 33's will NOT...and neither will a 150hp V6.....35's and 20s, along with a V8 or diesel will be in the next couple of years for sure.

thanks man! i used rustoleum automobile primer, then gloss black. rustoleum also. it sucked though because the first time i painted it, i tried to put a coat of clear on there, but i guess clear and gloss dont work together so it all just cracked. then, the second time, my buddy said not to strip it all the way down, just take the clear off. so i did that, and then guess what happened. yep, it cracked again. so the third time was the charm. stripped it down to bare steel, and painted it up. so in total, i probably have about 24 hours into painting the dumb thing whatever though, it was worth it!

Hey I noticed in a few of your guy's sigs you have either the 4" rough country or trailmaster lifts. How do you guys like 'em? what shocks are you running and is the ride too stiff or soft? I'm looking for a 3-4" lift and I wanna run the Bilstein 5165's.

Also, Hill billy, did you make that bumper, or where'd you get it from?

Here's a couple updated pics of my rig:

Finished painting my Skid plates and clear coating them, along with a few fresh coats on the Downey bumper.

Air system almost hooked up and running. Compressor works and quickly, very quickly pumps from 0-160 psi. The tank is rated to a working pressure of 275psi. It's a 3.5 gallon custom aluminum tank, the compressor came off a Mercedes C class and will pump a max of 18 Bar or 261.068 psi Either way I'm only going to run at around 150psi max. I'm trying to find a 90* fitting in 5mm with 1/8" NPT threads for the valve assembly to get my rear ARB locker up and running...any help?
