so i learned an important lesson today... the hard way. having mud terrains doesnt mean you wont get stuck, it just means that when you do get stuck its gonna be a lot worse.

this is my practically stock 4runner, no lockers . the picture doesnt show how bad i was teetering, but yes, i actually had to strap to a tree so i could move without rolling. i eventually got a nice pile built for the front tire and by using the strap as a pivot point, i got out just fine. didnt damage the pillar or anything. i cant really think of any other way to get out of that situation in my circumstances. i know it looks pathetic, but it was kinda hairy.

I don't know if you had a second person there but, I am wondering if putting the strap on the rear passenger corner and having someone hold the strap to keep the truck from tipping and very light throttle in 4 low woulda worked.

With no person there I don't think I would thought of strapping to the tree like you did. I know some tree huggers might flame ya for it though haha.

Good job getting outta that mess though.

youre idea probably would have worked but i was flying solo. this was just a little fun on the way to the work christmas party! i fully intend to get a chain with a pulley wheel on it and a tree saver so the tree huggers cant say crap! :p

that certainly was. youd probably be pretty disappointed with it, its just a fun little trail with the occasional washout area. from what i hear the good wheeling is over the line in mtn city tn. for a stock truck its fun though. its up deck hill rd, on the left across from the water department or whatever. idk if youre familiar with boone or not but there is a 4x4 shop here, high country 4x4. they can direct you to some trails. i havent had time to find them as i just got these tires and its been finals week.

I'll get a build thread one of these days. Currently designing bumpers and sliders for it. Here's a old pic of it with 38.5 tsl's.

From: Yotatech, because Pirate is too expensive. NorCal.
There was one on pirate like that with a cummins in it. The dude had to add like a foot to the front clip to fit the deisel. Twas pretty bad ass.

Actually it's mine. I'm 6'2 which helps. My wife is 5'4 and still gets in fine. She puts her foot on the front tire and hops in. Here's a pic where you can get an idea of the height.

that is one helluva sick runner. When my truck dies/rusts out ima find a nice 4runner and make it like that.
