Looks to me like some kinda upside down leafs with shackles connecting to another set of leafs.

 

called a 3/4 eliptical setup. "old school" before air shocks and wierd 3-4-5 link coil setup became the norm.

theres also a 1/4 eliptical thats fairly cool.... kind of minimalest design....

were the revolver shots? ive got some in a box waiting to bolt on....

 

That was my father, he had already seen him go up it and checked it out.
